We even have tips for where you can go to enjoy and explore in and around Sandbrock Ranch, so enjoy the list and feel free to download a colorful copy to hang on your refrigerator through the season!

  • Go Pumpkin Picking at a Pumpkin Patch. The Aubrey Pumpkin Patch at Team Family Farms is only minutes away from Sandbrock Ranch.
  • Drink Some Apple Cider. Delicious, fresh-picked apples mixed with warming spices – there’s nothing better on a crisp autumn afternoon!
  • Take a Hayride. There’s no better way to view all the autumn hues in the most autumn way possible than from the back of a wagon full of warm-smelling hay!
  • Bake a Fall Pie. Nothing is better in the fall than a delicious pie warm from the oven: pumpkin, apple, whatever is your favorite. Don’t feel like baking? Order something from the made-from-scratch kitchen at Nancy Cate’s Bakeshop in Aubrey, TX!
  • Take a Fall Nature Walk. The inviting amenities at Sandbrock Ranch offer plenty of ways to enjoy it.
  • Roast Marshmallows by the Fire. Make a date with the family for a s’mores night! Sandbrock Ranch residents can gather around the firepit located at our beautiful lakeside patio!
  • Visit a Farmers Market. There are many unique farmers markets located in the Aubrey, TX area, and each one boasts its own distinctive taste and style.
  • Catch a Drivein Movie. It’s a bit of a drive from the Ranch, but the Coyote Drive-In Theater in Fort Worth is showing a whole slate of seasonal and family-friendly films this fall. Also, keep an eye out for the drive-in movie pop-up schedule at The Star in Frisco!
  • Cook a Warm Soup. On a blustery autumn day, nothing is better than a warm bowl or mug of butternut squash soup, three-bean and barley soup, roasted red pepper potato soup, or chicken and corn stew.
  • Buy an Autumn Candle. Pick up a scented candle from the local Casey & Co. Boutique right here in Aubrey, TX!
  • Plan a Fall Photo Shoot. Find the perfect nature spot at nearby Ray Roberts Lake State Park – or pick your favorite spot right here on the Ranch – and get some fall family photos that you can enjoy all year long!
  • Have an Outdoor Game Night. From corn hole to horseshoes, badminton to volleyball, an outdoor game night can be a blast for the whole family. There’s no better place to plan one than at the Event Lawn and recreation field right next to the Carriage House here at Sandbrock Ranch!
  • Make a Fall Wreath. Wreaths: They aren’t just for Christmas anymore! Residents can enjoy craft-making in the demo kitchen at the Carriage House, and come away with something fun and festive you can hang on your front door!
  • Plant Some Fall Wildflowers. This year, plant some fall wildflowers and enjoy their vibrant color all through the autumn months.
  • Go Stargazing. They say that everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes the sky. The North Texas countryside is filled with breathtaking stargazing opportunities, so grab your flashlights, your blanket, and a thermos of hot chocolate, and prepare to be amazed!
  • Dress Up for Halloween. Sure, the kids love it, but why should they have all the fun? Get your own costumes! Dress up the dogs! And, of course, post your pics for us to see!
  • Jump in a Leaf Pile. Experience nature with this fall tradition.
  • Knit Something Cozy. You can check out several local yarn stores, including the McKinney Knittery, a community yarn destination in nearby McKinney, TX.
  • Bake a New Pumpkin Recipe. Pumpkin bread, cupcakes, cheesecake, cookies, you pick!
  • Make a Birdfeeder. Get yourself some bird seeds to do a DIY bird seed wreath.
