From the Horse’s Mouth – Watch Out for Wagging Tails

Get a glimpse of what life is like at Sandbrock Ranch through the eyes of Sandbrock Ranch’s very own resident, Karen H. From the first days of discovering our one-of-a-kind community to building her family’s very own dream home, read up on Karen’s experience straight from the horse’s mouth.

October 2019

Our household has been “howling” with delight over a “pawsome” new amenity now open in Sandbrock Ranch that is sure to be “pup-ular” with Fido families.

Did I drop enough canine hints for you to guess it’s a dog park?

Scout’s Corner Dog Park offers 1.6 acres for pups to run leash-free, with sections for both small dogs and large dogs (something I’m sure Yorkie owners appreciate when they see my 150-pound Great Pyrenees!).

Although our yard is large enough for both dogs to run and play, I still take ours to a dog park for extra socialization. We’ve been going down to Frisco, so I’m very happy to now have a dog park right around the corner. Not only do they get to meet other dogs, but they have a chance to follow their natural instincts, which for Great Pyrenees is to patrol the perimeter of a property as they were bred to be livestock guardian dogs. It’s fun to watch their innate character at work before they take off and run around the park. I’ll find them playing either with a friend of similar size or with all the dogs running in a line chasing the fastest Fido.

And a dog park isn’t just for canine socialization — I love meeting up with other dog parents. Everyone is always eager to talk about their “fur-baby” and share funny stories or suggestions for durable toys or new treats. Our dogs are so big that they tend to draw a crowd, and we enjoy telling others about the breed. Scout’s Corner is particularly relaxing because there are shaded pavilions and seating where owners can sit comfortably while their dogs play. There are actually three pavilions at the park, so there’s space for everyone.

The dog park is just another example why I’m so glad we made the move to Sandbrock Ranch. There truly is something for everyone here — from a playground for small children to stocked fishing lakes for the outdoors enthusiast to an exercise room for the fitness-minded to a gorgeous resort-style pool with play and relaxation zones. The whole family couldn’t be happier at Sandbrock Ranch.

See you at the dog park![vc_single_image image=”20114″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][lab_hs_forms portal_id=”4151365″ form_id=”7acb97f5-8df7-4e38-92d0-91d0b42011b8″]
